The Toyota Prius, the world’s best selling hybrid automobile, had more complaints registered with the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration than any other vehicle model. Prius owners have complained of having difficulty with the vehicle’s abrupt acceleration and braking issues. The second largest number of consumer complaints with the administration came from Hyundai Sonata owners. The complaints commonly pertained to the Sonata’s steering issues with the vehicles drifting either left or right. The third largest amount of complaints came from owners of the BMW 5 Series. A fuel pressure pump pressure issue in the 5 Series has in some cases prohibited motorists from accelerating to a safe speed on fast moving highways. Rounding out the top four was the Kia Sorrento, citing consumer complaints for a variety of issues. Owners complained that the vehicles showed transmission defects, acceleration issues, and check engine light failure.

According to several news agencies in California, two motorcyclists were involved in an accident that happened last week and that took place on Highway 18.

The official accident records released by the California Highway Patrol show that a vehicle traveling on the eastbound lanes of the Highway 18 crossed the centerlines and hit two motorcyclists just west of Inspiration Drive.

The California Highway Patrol officials who responded to the scene have claimed that the motorcyclists were riding one directly behind the other when the left side of the vehicle hit the front end of the first motorcycle that was being driven by a 30-year-old man from Homeland. As a result of the impact, the first motorcycle’s front end crashed into the second motorcycle that was carrying a 30-year-old man from Hesperia.

The authorities say both riders were ejected from their bikes and ended up landing on the right shoulder of the 18. Emergency crews transported both men to the hospital.

The driver was not injured in any way.

At this moment, the California Highway Patrol is investigating this accident.

As a San Diego personal injury lawyer, I sincerely hope that both riders are recovering quickly from all the wounds they sustained in this accident. I’ve seen similar motorcycle accidents like this in the past and know that too often riders are not as lucky. I hope the authorities are able to determine the causes behind this accident so other motorists can avoid doing the same mistakes that led to this accident.

Keep it in mind that if you’re ever injured in an accident that was caused by a distracted driver, you could consider consulting with a personal injury lawyer San Francisco if you live in the area to ask about the legal options applicable to your case.

At the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Dorel Juvenile Group has announced a voluntary recall for two models of its rear facing Safety 1st infant child restraints. Certain units of these Safety 1st infant child restraints may have been distributed without the seat base equipped with lower anchors and tethers (often abbreviated as LATCH). These lower anchors and tethers are required by federal safety standard guidelines regulating infant child restraints. The models of infant child safety restraints affected by this recall are the IC124 FSM OnBoard 35 Infant Child Restraint and the IC123 FSM Comfy Carry Infant Child Restraint which were manufactured between May 2011 and April 25, 2012. Dorel Juvenile Group will contact the owners of affected child restraints with instructions for obtaining an infant base equipped with lower anchors and tethers compliant to federal safety guidelines. Until these bases arrive, Dorel Juvenile Group recommends that consumers continue using the rear facing safety restraints in the manner described by the product’s instruction manual until the lower anchors and tethers can be installed. More information can be obtained by contacting Dorel Juvenile Group or visiting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website.

As a personal injury attorney in Los Angeles, I am hopeful that this recall can be completed successfully and fully before any children are injured by this potential safety issue. If you or someone you love has been injured due to a defective or insufficient vehicle safety feature, please consider contacting a Los Angeles car accident lawyer.

A husband filed a $5.35 million lawsuit claiming wrongful death after his wife was shot by a police officer in Culpeper. He is demanding $5 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages for the shooting, according to news reports. The Virginia State Police are investigating the shooting, which involved a five-year police department veteran. The suit’s allegations are different from what the Virginia State Police alleges happened in the shooting over 13 weeks ago. The suit claims his wife was shot several times in the head by an officer after she did not follow police orders to not roll up her window after getting pulled over. “In Virginia, a police officer has no right to inflict serious bodily harm on a person who is simply fleeing arrest for a misdemeanor, much less a person who has committed no crime and who is simply exercising her right to decline to speak with a police officer,” the suit states.

As a Germantown personal injury lawyer, I look forward to hearing more about this case. If you or a loved one were harmed due to negligence or recklessness, you may want to discuss your claim with a Washington DC personal injury lawyer who can evaluate your case and help protect and defend your legal rights.

The 29-year-old North Auburn woman was traveling on the westbound lanes of the Wolf Road on her 1997 Toyota Camry when the vehicle suddenly drove off to the side of the road and crashed after traveling down an embankment. According to the troopers who responded to the scene, the vehicle rolled down at least twice before it rested on its wheels. The driver was ejected from the rolling vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. Troopers also claimed that the woman did not have her seat belt on prior to the accident, which could have possibly saved her life.

According to one account, the woman may have been texting while behind the wheel, which caused her to be distracted and lose her focus on the road ahead.

At this moment the California Highway Patrol is investigating this case to learn more about the factors that may have played important roles in this crash.

It’s my hope as a Bakersfield personal injury lawyer that this accident is investigated thoroughly so others can learn from the driver’s mistakes and similar accidents can be avoided. My heart and thoughts go out to the family and loved ones of the woman killed in this accident. In my line of work I’ve seen several accidents like this and I know how difficult it is for the family to cope with the loss of a loved one. Hopefully, they’re receiving all the support and attention they deserve.

Whenever you or a loved one is injured in an accident that was caused by a distracted driver, you might want to consider contacting a personal injury lawyer Woodland Hills near you to learn more about the legal options available to your case.

Maryland State Police are currently performing seat belt safety enforcement as part of the “Click it or Ticket” campaign. Police want drivers and passengers to use their seat belts to protect their health. They will be out in force during Memorial Day Weekend in order to encourage drivers to remain safe. Just this month alone, about 800 cars were stopped for several violations including seatbelt citations. “Remarkably, out of these traffic stops there were 266 seatbelt citations and 4 child restraint citations issued. So far this month troopers have made 11 DUI arrests and 10 narcotics arrests,” according to news reports. The Bel Air Barrack will also be working with MSP to catch violators. They are also working to stop drunken drivers, and “High Visibility DUI Saturation Patrols” will be included in the campaign.

As a Baltimore personal injury lawyer, I hope that more drivers and passengers wear their seat belts. I always encourage drivers to use safety devices and avoid drunken driving and other distractions. I’ve handled many cases involving these types of situations which could have easily been avoided if a driver took the necessary steps to remain safe. If you or a loved one were harmed in an auto accident caused by a negligent driver, discuss your claim with a Columbia personal injury lawyer who can evaluate your case and help protect your rights. When you have an attorney on your side, you are more likely to get the results you deserve.

Due to the discovery that a fractured axel can affect vehicle handling and increase the risk of a crash, Ford has decided to voluntarily recall all units of the 1998 through 2003 Windstar vehicles manufactured between September 1st, 1997 and July 3rd, 2003.

The problematic axle, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, could experience a torsional stress over time and corrosion, which could possibly lead to a fracture while the vehicle is in use. The increased risk of an accident due to the fracture of the vehicle’s rear axle has forced the company to issue this recall alert immediately.

According to the multiple news agencies covering this recall alert, this issue affects over 27,000 units of this model of vehicles.

Ford is now notifying all owners of these recalled vehicles they must contact dealers to schedule a visit to have their vehicles repaired at once. According to the federal agency, authorized mechanics are instructed to install rear axle reinforcement brackets that should contain this problem fro free.

Ford vehicle owners are encouraged to check their cars for the recalled model year as soon as possible and to contact the manufacturer as soon as they’re sure this issue affects their vehicles.

It’s the most sincere hope of any Renton Personal Injury Lawyer that this recall campaign is successful so nobody will be injured in any incident related to this problem.

Any Kirkland Personal Injury Lawyer can tell you that recalls like this have caused several accidents in the past so act promptly and have your car fixed before an accident occurs.

According to several news agencies covering recall alerts, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has revealed that Children’s Letterman Jackets are being recalled over a possible defect that could pose as a potential choking hazard to children.

The official recall announcement has disclosed that all jackets manufactured by Class Club in Vietnam, imported by Supreme Trading Limited of Philadelphia and sold between September and November of 2011 exclusively at Dillard’s stores are equipped with snaps that could become detached unexpectedly. This issue, according to the firm, could pose a chocking hazard to children.

Although there haven’t been any injuries reported so far, the federal agency has determined that since there’s a possibility these jackets could pose a risk to users, all units should be returned to the place of purchase at once for a full refund.

The CPSC has urged parents to check if their children have one of these jackets in their possession immediately. Consumers are alerted they must refrains from dressing their children with this product to prevent injuries from occurring.

As a Glendale personal injury lawyer, I sincerely hope that this recall is being carried out successfully. Whenever you learn about a recall alert that has been issued and that is related to a product or vehicle you own, heed to the instructions of the federal agency issuing the recall to ensure your own safety and the safety of your loved ones. Remember that it’s better to be safe than sorry. Ignoring a recall alert could pose a serious danger to you and your loved ones.

Any personal injury lawyer can tell you that similar recalls have been issued in the past and the consequences are always worrisome. Too often, incidents are reported before any recall alerts are issued so stay alert: the safety of your loved ones depends on your readiness.

A new set of safety guidelines for children’s car seats has been issued by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. According to the new safety guidelines, children younger than one year of age must always be placed in a car seat that faces toward the vehicle’s rear. Children between the ages of 1 year old and 3 years old should remain in their rear facing car seats until their body weight or height exceeds the limits of the car seat’s capacity. Children between the ages of 4 years old and 7 years old should be harnessed in forward facing safety seats until they exceed the limits for allowable height and weight set by the car seat’s manufacturer. Children between the ages of 8 years old and 12 years old should continue sitting in a safety booster seat until they fit securely in the vehicle’s seatbelt with the belt snugly fitting against the child’s upper thighs, not the stomach. All children under the age of 12 years old must sit in the rear seat.

The 2011-2012 Ford F150, Expedition, Mustang and Lincoln Navigators are all undergoing a recall since they do not meet safety requirements for their transmissions. They may include Transmission Range Sensors that don’t meet federal requirements. The problem with these vehicles is that they may not go into reverse when the driver puts the gear shift into reverse. The vehicles may also have other problems, including not lighting up the interior sensor which signals that they are in reverse, according to news reports.

As a Columbia personal injury lawyer, my thoughts are with those involved in this recall. Please check to see if you own a recalled automobile and have it repaired immediately by a nearby dealer. I hope nobody is harmed by an unsafe product. If you believe you or a loved one were adversely affected by an unsafe product, you may want to discuss your claim with a Baltimore car accident attorney who can evaluate your case and help protect and defend your legal rights. With an attorney on your side fighting for your rights, you are more likely to get the results you deserve for your case. An attorney can help answer any questions you may have and help you through the legal processes associated with your case.
